Fabiana Tavares is a film director, photographer, and writer, born in Porto on November 28, 1989. An artist of the invisible, her work unfolds between the emotional and the visual, the intimate and the poetic. With a strong foundation in storytelling and image-making, she explores themes such as identity, memory, healing, and human complexity, often through a raw and personal lens. Her creations invite reflection, vulnerability, and transformation, shedding light on what is felt more than seen, on the subtle truths that live beneath the surface.
During her Film degree at Universidade Lusófona in Lisbon, she directed the short film Puto, which screened at several national festivals and won three CinEuphoria awards: Best Director, Best Short Film, and Top Short Films of the Year.
She began her career in advertising, working with major brands such as L’Oréal, MEO, WTF, and NOS. She directed music videos for artists like Agir, Isaura, and Tiago Bettencourt. On December 14, 2020, her first TV film Quando o Diabo Reza premiered on RTP1, as part of the “Contado por Mulheres” project by Ukbar Filmes.
In 2024, she was selected for the Torino Film Lab Extended in the Netherlands, with a project developed in partnership with Ukbar Filmes and screenwriter Rafael Afonso, in collaboration with the National Museum of Cinema in Turin.
